Refund Policy
At African Tourism & Cultural Exchange, we strive to provide our customers with seamless and memorable travel experiences. However, we understand that circumstances may arise that require changes or cancellations to your travel plans. Please review our refund policy below to understand your options.
1. Booking Confirmation and Payment
Once a booking is confirmed and payment has been processed, the reservation is considered final. Payments are non-refundable, except as outlined in our cancellation policy.
2. Cancellation Policy
More than 60 days before departure: Cancellations made more than 60 days before your scheduled departure date will receive a full refund.
60 to 30 days before departure: Cancellations made between 60 to 30 days before your scheduled departure date will receive a refund, minus a cancellation fee of $200 USD of your total purchase.
15 to 30 days before departure: Cancellations made between 15 and 30 days before departure will receive a 50% refund of the total booking price, as services have already been committed to suppliers and vendors.
Less than 15 days before departure: Cancellations made within 15 days of departure will not be eligible for a refund, as services have already been committed to suppliers and vendors.
No Show: If you fail to show up for your scheduled trip without prior cancellation, you will not be eligible for a refund.
3. Changes to Bookings
Before 30 days of departure: We are happy to accommodate changes to your booking, such as modifying dates or destinations, subject to availability. However, any potential price differences between the original and new booking will be applied and will be the financial responsibility of the traveler.
Within 30 days of departure: Changes to your booking will not be accepted. Emergencies are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
4. Travel Insurance
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking to cover unexpected cancellations, interruptions, or delays. ATCE does not provide travel insurance, and travel insurance is separate from the refund and cancellation policies outlined here. Please refer to your third-party travel insurance policy regarding coverage details.
5. Unforeseen Circumstances
In the event of extraordinary circumstances, such as a medical emergency, natural disasters, or other emergencies beyond our control, ATCE will work with you to provide alternatives, including rescheduling your spot or offering a refund, depending on the situation. However, we cannot guarantee a full refund in some cases, as it depends on the time of the cancellation.
6. Refund Process
Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within 7-10 business days from the date of cancellation. Refunds will be made to the original payment method on file. Please note that some service providers (hotels, airlines, etc.) may take longer to process refunds due to their policies, and our cancellation policy may vary depending on the terms agreed upon with third-party suppliers.
7. Special Offers and Promotions
Any discounted rates, special offers, or promotions provided through ATCE may be subject to different terms and conditions, including stricter cancellation policies. Please review the specific terms associated with these offers at the time of booking. Promotions and special offers are subject to availability.
8. Customer Satisfaction
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the services provided during your trip, please contact our team within 7 days of return. We value your feedback and will work to resolve any issues to the best of our ability.
